Your Antarctica cruise with Oceanwide Expeditions
The White Continent, with its multi-coloured ice-caps, glaciers and towering snow-capped mountains, offers attractive scenery and photographic opportunities. Your Antarctica cruise starts in Ushuaia, the southernmost harbour in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, and from here we set course to Antarctica, crossing the Drake Passage. During this time at sea, numerous seabird species can be observed, such as albatrosses and petrels.
During our Antarctic travel programs, we will spend as much time ashore as possible, hiking and exploring the sites. The limited number of passengers aboard our vessels enables us to bring everyone, all at once, quickly and smoothly ashore with our inflatable zodiacs. Regularly we try to land at “unknown”locations, which will contribute to the exploratory character of your Antarctic expedition.
During our Antarctic expedition we will encounter plenty of wildlife such as whales, various species of seals and many penguins. During our voyages to the Falkland Islands and South Georgia you can even see more different penguin species, such as the Rockhoppers in the Falklands and King Penguins in South Georgia, which also offers the breeding grounds of the greatest Albatross, the Wandering Albatross.
